The Invitation

Our Families

Grandpa!
Grandma!
Dad!
Mom!
There is something I want to say
before things can get any worse.
And you, dear children,
you, our beloved daughters and sons!
Perhaps what we are seeing before our eyes
is the collapse of a system.
But perhaps, within it,
we can also see something being born.
What worlds might take shape?
What dreams might come true?
What pasts are slowly fading away?
Come, let’s sit down here…
and slow down…
just for a moment…

Oh, our families!
We all hold in our hands
a kind of magical power
that can open countless doors.
We also have the power to choose
how we will live.
What can we do
to walk through these changes together,
to lean on one another,
and keep the stream of life flowing?

“What futures are possible
when our families are in
deep and meaningful conversations?”

The Art of Hosting and Harvesting Conversations That Matter (AoHH) training is a haven for those pining for their families, who had and are still dreaming of different ways to nurture connection and open-heartedness within their families through honest conversations, and those who are redefining what “family” is in an increasingly changeable society.

Here, we find spaciousness to learn and practice opening up family-related topics that are inherently more difficult to talk about the more you want to. Through hands-on experiments with perspectives and methodologies, we will support each other in facing the challenges of each person’s roles in the family context, practicing inviting diverse voices to expand worldviews, and together see more clearly the ways each individual can hold space for conversations that are needed in their own families.

The training space is also a mini-verse in which families are not simply isolated oases, but each a cell capable of holding, transmitting nutrients and supporting surrounding family cells, and together creating a dependable buffer of collective will in today’s volatile society.

Who is this training for?

We invite all of you who are

  • curious to learn about participatory leadership and ready to step into the hands-on practice of the hosting and harvesting of conversations;
  • believing in the power of collective wisdom in solving complex problems and eager to explore methods for leading in complexity within and across families, communities and organizations;
  • exploring dialogue-based facilitation as a life path as well as a career choice;
  • longing to support and be supported by a community of practitioners to deepen your personal practices;
  • seeking inspiration for your visions, initiatives and projects through creative collaborations;
  • engaged in systems change and emerging movements and want to foster participatory process design;
  • simply willing to offer your presence and curiosity to deep dive in emerging meaningful conversations.

This is not typical training. It is an experience. A practice ground. A space to expand your capacity to lead and hold conversations that matter.
